On Saturday, March 19, Bishop Folda wrote the following:
“Pope Francis announced this week that he would consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He will perform the consecration at St. Peter’s Basilica on March 25th, the Solemnity of the Annunciation, while Cardinal Konrad Krajewski will do the same at the shrine of Fatima, Portugal.
“The Holy Father has also invited all the world’s bishops and priests to join him simultaneously in the consecration of Russia and Ukraine, which I will do at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. on March 25th. We will plan to livestream the Consecration for those who wish to participate.”
The Bishop invites all the faithful of the Diocese of Fargo to join with the Holy Father in this solemn act. He asked that we join our prayers and sacrifices to the Consecration on Friday, March 25th, “as we pray for peace, and implore the Queen of Heaven to intercede on our behalf to bring a swift end to the war in Ukraine and bring all people under the dominion of Christ the King. Thank you, and know of my prayers for you.”
The 11:00 a.m. livestream of Bishop Folda praying the Prayer of Consecration to Mary will be available on the Diocese of Fargo YouTube channel.
