In the summer of 2017, our parish embarked on an exciting campaign to fund Phase 1 of our Master Plan, a new parish hall. This campaign was called Embracing Our Tradition, Building Our Future.
For more information about the original plan, visit the 2017 Plan and Campaign Statement page.
In 2018, our plans dramatically changed when the Fargo-Moorhead Flood Diversion Authority announced their flood control plan (for more information, see our “Flood Plan B” article). Ultimately, we decided to move of our parish to a new location in the city of Horace.
The first phase of the revised master plan is the construction of a parish hall, kitchen, offices and rest rooms at a new location in Horace. Future phases will include the construction of a church, education wing,—and maybe even a school!
Bishop Folda approved this new plan, and on July 11, 2022, he blessed our new site in Horace and participated in the ground breaking ceremony. We look forward to moving into our new building in early 2024.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us in supporting this important effort for the future of our parish.
Please pray for St. Benedict parish and for the success of this historic effort.
Heavenly Father, we turn to you with grateful hearts for what we have,
and with great anticipation for what is yet to be.
Bless us with a sense of unity, a spirit of cooperation,
and a generous heart.
Please guide our parish’s efforts to embrace our tradition and build our future.
Help us to bring all those that enter our church
into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe our goals are rooted in your word and in your work.
May we remain one in you and may this project be a blessing
to all of our parishioners at St. Benedict.
Strengthen us and bless us with your presence, now and forever.
We ask this through your son, Christ our Lord.
Amen.
